Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Mass General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
JOB TITLE
Postdoctoral Research Fellow
LOCATION
Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for multiple postdoctoral research fellows, visiting students, and researchers who are highly motivated, well-organized, and dynamic, with a high level of independence and creative thinking, to join the Shu Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School (https://www.jianshulab.org/).
Our research focuses on developing and implementing generative AI to decode and translate the languages of biology across different data modalities and scales, such as advanced imaging, spatial and single-cell omics, and perturbation data. We place a strong emphasis on generating multi-omics data (e.g., scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq) from imaging data (e.g., morphology, chemical composition, and fluorescence imaging) for cell fate conversion, cellular reprogramming, drug discovery, and diagnosis.
We invite candidates with strong expertise in machine learning, bioinformatics, multimodal learning, and single-cell analysis to join our vibrant research community. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address critical questions in biology and medicine.
REQUIREMENTS
-
A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related fields is required, with a strong emphasis on machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
-
Experience in analyzing high-throughput genomics data, including single-cell RNA-seq data and spatial transcriptomics data, is highly desirable.
-
Experience in analyzing medical imaging data, including H&E-stained pathological images or chemically stained images, is highly desirable.
-
Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, with experience using machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
-
Familiarity with deep learning techniques, such as Transformer Models, Diffusion Models, is essential.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team are essential.
